iEXL V3R2M2 Available Native AS400/IBM i spreadsheet design.

iEXL V3R2M2 is now available and complete.

iEXL allows you to design professional spreadsheets straight from your AS400 with no programming. Some extra functionality does require BASIC programming.

iEXL now contains options such as  Fonts, Colours, Text insertion, Images, Merge cell,  Functions/Formula, Hide columns, Column Headings, underlines, text rotation, Freeze panes, Passwords, 50 DB files per workbook and then email the spreadsheet. The system also allows multiple default settings to help speed up the design process. Apply these options to Columns, Rows or Individual cells. 

A new user manual is also available which contains step by step examples.

Run the GRTOBJAUT command to allow *PUBLIC *ALL authority to objects in library IDDEXL. This will be corrected in the next download which will be available 1st March ’12.

iEXL. Styles at Spreadsheet and Column Level

iEXL will allow styles to be applied at spreadsheet and column level as of 1st Feb ’12. Instead of applying styles to each cell you can specify them at spreadsheet and column level. This results in massive performance improvement.

i.e Spreadsheet containing 10 columns by 100,000 rows would require 1,000,000 calls to style programs. Now with the new levels it requires 10 columns = 10 calls to style programs.
